Thierry Froment graduated from Mining school in Paris and holds a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. After 4 years in the Technical Department and as Drilling Engineer in Sedco Forex, a subsidiary of Schlumberger, he joined Entropie, a private Thermal Desalination engineering company. After several positions in the company he became Managing Director. In 2005, Veolia purchased Weir Techna, the engineering division of the Weir Group which included Entropie and Weir Westgarth, the scottish desalination contractor. In 2006, Thierry Froment became Managing Director of Westgarth and refocused the company from desalination to becoming a world leader in offshore water injection. In 2009, he became CEO of the newly created Veolia business unit called VWS Oil & Gas tasked to develop the onshore Oil & Gas market for Veolia while he remained chaiman of Westgarth. Since 2010, Thierry Froment is Executive Vice President and member of the executive committee of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies in charge of the Oil & Gas activities.
