Mr Bakheet Al-Rashidi is the Chief Executive Officer (KPC Holdings-Aruba) and the President (Kuwait Petroleum International), since May 2013.
KPI is an international downstream subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), the state-owned entity responsible for Kuwait’s hydrocarbons interests world-wide. KPI has two refineries in the Netherlands and Italy, a supply and marketing network for retail, aviation, lubricants and speciality products, as well as research activities spread across Europe.
KPI is constructing a mega grass-root refinery project in Vietnam (NSRP) as a JV, with capacity of 200,000 barrels per day.
Mr Al-Rashidi has held several key positions during his career spanning nearly three decades, including: deputy chairman and deputy managing director for planning and local marketing of KNPC, a downstream domestic refining company; member of the board at KOC, a large upstream national oil and gas company; and chairman and managing director of M/s Kuwait Aromatics (KARO) from 2009 to 2012, a joint venture private sector petrochemicals company.
Mr Al-Rashidi is a chemical engineer by profession and an active member of several premier international bodies and technical committees on oil and gas. He was involved in 25 major projects which are being executed by KNPC, the downstream subsidiary company of KPC in Kuwait.
Before he was the Chairman and Managing Director of Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) since November 2007 – June 2011, and before he was Chairman and Managing Director of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) November 2001 – October 2007, after he worked with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) as Executive Assistant to Managing Director (Operation) responsible for all Kuwait oil production and field maintenance, he joined KOC after graduated as Mechanical Engineer in 1977 in Northridge, California State University – California – USA and progressed till his later transfer to Kuwait Gulf Oil Co. Bader likes fishing and traveling, he was also part of the Kuwaiti team that participated to rebuild the oil sector after the liberation of Kuwait in 1991 and was responsible for the EOD clearance and he started the Kuwait fire fighting team during the well fire fighting
Sami Al Rushaid is currently the Chairman and Managing Director (C&MD) of Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) responsible for all Oil & Gas Exploration and Productions Operations in Kuwait. He was C&MD of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) from October 2004 till October 2007. He had enjoyed a long and illustrious career at KNPC where he had held a number of positions including Corporate Planning Manager, Executive Assistant Managing Director (Planning & Projects) and Deputy Chairman and Deputy Managing Director (Manufacturing) before being appointed C&MD of KNPC. He is also Board member of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) & a Council member for College of Graduate Studies in Kuwait University.
Dr Naji Mohammed Al-Mutairi is currently Director General of Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research. He was Director of the Research Directorate at Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS). He initiated diverse scientific programs and streamlined procedures to promote optimum support for scientific research and training. He coordinated the successful implementation of the Kuwait Mathematics Program at University of Cambridge, UK and was instrumental in the establishment phases of the Centre for Research and Treatment of Diabetes. Specialised in Civil (Structural) Engineering, he has several scientific publications to his credit. His areas of interests include concrete technology, assessment of structural damage, behaviour of reinforced concrete structural elements, and related topics. He is a member of several international organizations and has made several contributions to science and education, and has won numerous honours and awards
Mr Al-Zanki is Deputy Chairman of the board of Directors, and Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) – October 2010. Mr Al-Zanki received a Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Oklahoma University, USA in 1976 and a Master Degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1980. He then began his illustrious career at KOC where he progressed through the following positions; Petroleum Engineer (KOC), 1980; Superintendent, Reservoir Control (KOC), 1982; Superintendent, Reservoir Engineering Section West Kuwait and Wafra (KOC), 1986; General Superintendent, Reservoirs Department (KOC), 1991; Manager, Planning Group (KOC), 1995; Manager, Exploration and Development Group (KOC), 1997; Deputy Chairman and Executive Assistant to the Managing Director, Exploration and Development of Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), 1999; KPC Managing Director for E&P and Chairman of Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), September 2004-August 2007; KPC Managing Director for Refining and Chairman of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), September 2007-October 2010.
Mr Hussain E Esmaiel is President of Kuwait Petroleum International and Chairman & Managing Director of Kuwait Petroleum Corporate Holdings. Graduating in 1977 with a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin Madison, USA, he began his career at the Kuwait National Petroleum Company. In 1995 he was appointed Operations Manager at the Mina Abdullah refinery in Kuwait, later moving on to be General Manager at the Shuaiba Refinery and subsequently Deputy Managing Director. In November 2008 he became Managing Director of Kuwait Petroleum International.Mr Esmaiel has extensive experience in refinery, HSSE and project management, as well HR management and transformational changes in large organisations where he transformed the Shuaiba refinery into a safe, reliable and profitable operation.
